Altar Servers

Coordinator: Hai Nguyen

This ministry consists of the children and adults who serve the Holy Mass on weekends and special liturgical celebrations. The coordinator trains and schedules the altar servers.

Baptism Preparation

Coordinator: Mary Andrysiak

This ministry provides a baptismal preparation class for parents who desire to have their child baptized.

Eucharistic Adoration - Friday morning silent Adoration 

Coordinator: Sandy Holcomb

Weekly silent Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament following the 8:00 am mass on Friday morning from 8:30am to 9:30am.  

Eucharistic Adoration - Monday evening Praise and Worship Adoration

Coordinator: Kelli Crabb 

This “Praise and Worship” Adoration includes songs, prayers, readings, a short homily, and moments of silent meditation. First Monday of each month, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Children, youth and families are invited and included.  

Eucharistic Ministers

Coordinator: Debbie Collura

Eucharistic Ministers (EMs) assist the celebrant in distributing the most precious Body and Blood of the Lord to the faithful at Mass. The coordinator trains and schedules the EMs.  

Eucharistic Procession

Coordinator: Janet Nathe

The Parish participates in Eucharistic Processions which include the Eucharist and/or the Blessed Virgin. The coordinator works with the Pastor to schedule the processions, participants, music and praise.  

Holy Communion to the Homebound

Coordinator: Dennis Berberich

This ministry involves taking Holy Communion to the homebound and, in doing so, bringing Christ to them. 

Lectors

Coordinator: Christy Stafford

The ministry focuses on proclaiming the Word of God from the pulpit during Holy Mass on Sundays, weekdays and Holy Days.  The coordinator trains and schedules the lectors.

Music Ministry

The Music Ministry is responsible for preparing music for Mass and other worship services.  The musicians responsible for each Mass are:

    Saturday, 4:00 pm - Vigil – Iris Alicea

    Sunday, 8:00 am – Linda Blommel

    Sunday, 10:30 am – Ben Gordon 

Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA)

Coordinator: David Goswick

This ministry assists those discerning about joining the Catholic Church and prepares them for the Sacraments of Initiation (i.e. Baptism, Confirmation and the Eucharist.)

Sacristans

Coordinator: Melissa Fretz

Sacristans prepare the altar and the church for Mass and liturgical celebrations.  The coordinator trains and schedules the sacristans.

Ushers

Coordinator: Mark Barthle

Ushers greet people as they enter the church, show them available seating, collect offertory and maintain overall respect and order during Mass. The coordinator trains and schedules the ushers.

Human Trafficking Ministry

Coordinator: Barbara McCormick

Recognizing that human trafficking is an evil that exists everywhere, this group focuses on education regarding the existence of human tracking and the impact it has on its victims.  The group will also provide support, in conjunction with other organizations, to those who have been victimized. 

Ministry of Healing

Coordinator: Andrea Gude

The Healing Ministry at Sacred Heart Parish is open to all Parish members.  The group considers the Corporal Works of Mercy and healing of ourselves, as well as others, using modalities and support such as educational talks, flower arranging, music, CPR classes and gifts for the homebound at Christmas, as well as other ideas of the participants to support healing and overall well-being of parishioners.

Prayer Ministry

Coordinator: Roxanne Nathe

This ministry serves the Parish by praying for the needs identified to them.  Prayer requests remain confidential and are not shared outside of the group.  

Respect Life Ministry

Coordinator: Sandy Holcomb

Education about respect for human life is central to this ministry.  The ministry provides, where appropriate, support services for those affected and participates in community activities which support and promote human life in all forms.

Caregiver Support Ministry

Coordinator: Roger Crabb

This ministry provides support to those individuals who provide care to family and friends during times of injury and/or illness. This includes in person and virtual caregiver meetings via Zoom to discuss issues, share information with others, assist in locating programs and services, and home visits.

Grief Support Ministry

Coordinator: Angie Phillips

The grief group supports parishioners experiencing losses of friends, family members or loved ones, helping them deal with the emotions and changes associated with the loss. 

Ministry of Presence

Coordinator: Monica Schrader

The Ministry of Presence is the act of “being with” someone, rather than just “doing for” them.  The members of this ministry provide prayerful support to the deceased and their loved ones by being present at funerals held at the parish.

Vocations

Coordinators: Ray & Terry Pawlicki

The Vocations Ministry provides support to seminarians and supports their journey to the priesthood.  The ministry will also plan prayer vigils, Adoration and other services to ask God for the gift of additional priests.

Continuing Education

This ministry develops continuing education programs for the Parish, including educational series and special programs of current interest. This committee will also provide information and education regarding the Bishop’s Pastoral Plan and other special celebrations in the local and universal Church.

Religious Education for Children - First Communion and Confirmation

Director of Religious Education: Terry Pawlicki

The Parish Religious Education director organizes the religious education programs for the children, including preparation for their First Communion and Confirmation and entry into full membership in the Catholic Church.

Archives Ministry

Coordinator: Jean Nathe

Preserving and recording the history of Sacred Heart Parish is the charge of the Archives Ministry.  The ministry will confer with long-time members of the Parish and their families to collect and catalog the documents, photographs, and other items which reflect the history of our Parish.  The ministry will also develop archival procedures to ensure that this historical information is available for posterity.

Bible Study Group

Coordinator: Ray Pawlicki

With the goal of expanding knowledge of the Bible and an understanding of the teachings of Christ and His Church, a Bible study groups will be formed so that members of the Parish can learn about and discuss various portions of the Bible, the history of our Catholic faith, the Saints and the teachings of the Church. 

Sacred Heart ECC Family Circle Ministry

Coordinator: Cindie O’Quinn

In cooperation with the Parish community, this ministry will work to create a Catholic Christian faith and education support Community for pre-school students and their families, with an emphasis on supporting these young families.

Youth Ministry

Coordinator: Bill Zeranski

Sacred Heart Parish has a newly formed youth group which will provide spirit-filled experiences focusing on forming young adults who are Christ-centered.  

Christmas Card Lane

Coordinator: Ben Pumo

The group organizes the contribution of “cards” to decorate the Parish walking path during the Christmas season. This display brings holiday cheer to the parishioners and the community.

Decoration Ministry

Coordinator: Mary Jo Gude

The Decoration Ministry is in charge of making sure that the church, parish hall and parish grounds are decorated for liturgical celebrations and convey a welcoming presence to those who enter.

Farmers & Ranchers Ministry

Coordinator: John Blommel

The ministry focuses on meeting the spiritual needs of farmers and ranchers, supporting and praying for them. 

Knights of Columbus

Chair: Ben Pumo

The Knights of Columbus chapter provides spiritual, temporal and financial support to the Parish.  

Martha’s Table Ministry

Coordinator: Roxanne Nathe

The primary focus of this ministry is to coordinate receptions following funerals and other events held at the parish.  This includes providing covered dishes and handling the setup, serving and clean-up. 

New Parishioner Welcoming Ministry

Coordinator: AnaVictoria Campos

Sacred Heart Parish welcomes potential new members.  This committee greets new members and provides support to them as they meet others and become active members of the Parish.

Peace and Justice Ministry

Coordinators: Susan Barthle and Kelli Crabb              

The ministry promotes the utilization of the world’s resources in a fair and equitable way and supports and advocates for justice for marginalized individuals.

Sacred Heart Men’s Group

Coordinator: Thomas Humphries

The Men’s Group brings together men in the Parish of all ages to strength their love of God and their vocations as husbands, fathers, grandfathers, brothers and uncles.

Sacred Heart Women’s Club

Coordinator: Peggy Moffett

The Women’s Club welcomes women of all ages to unite in faith, fellowship and service as they seek to grow spiritually, support the Parish, and share Christ’s love through prayer, charitable works, hospitality and outreach. 

St. Francis of Assisi Ministry

Coordinator: Tammy Barthle

This ministry supports all of God’s creatures and organizes the annual blessing of animals and other special events.  

St. Vincent DePaul

Coordinator: Wayne Westhoff

In the spirit of St. Vincent DePaul, this organization works to help the poor, needy and marginalized and to provide for them as God’s children.

Trash & Treasures Ministry

Coordinators: Larry and Sandy Plunkett

The donation of one person’s “trash” to an organized sale taking place at the Fall Festival serves as a fundraiser for the Parish.

Parish Council

Chair: Chris Collura

The Parish Council consults with and provides advice to the Pastor, as requested, regarding operation of the Parish and its programs.   

Finance Council

Chair: Mandy Milam

The Finance Council supports the Pastor and approves the Parish budget and provides advice to the Pastor on financial issues. 

Offertory Committee

Co-Chairs: Sandy Plunket and Sherri Cheline 

These individuals ensure that Diocesan procedures are followed in the “counting” and deposit of regular and special offertory collections and reporting the results to the Pastor.

Expansion/Potential Capital Campaign Committee

Co-Chairs: Mike Gude and Sherri Cheline

This committee was formed to consider a possible expansion of the church building to meet the needs of the growing parish.  The committee will be tasked with overseeing a potential capital campaign to fund any proposed expansion.

Sacred Heart Cemetery Committee

Committee Members: Sherri Cheline, Bruce Gude, Roxanne Nathe, Ralph Barthle and David Goswick   

This committee manages the Parish cemetery and ensures that it is well maintained and is accessible as a respected burial place for Parish members.                 

St. Joe Fall Festival Committee

Co-Chairs: Chris Collura and Ryan Flynn

This annual festival is a major fundraiser for the Parish and encourages community-building and is an example of God’s presence to the community as a whole. 

Stewardship Committee

Chair: Larry Plunkett

The Stewardship Committee is responsible for providing education to the Parish and its members regarding the three “T’s” – i.e. Time, Talent and Treasure.

This ministry focuses on communication with parishioners through the bulletin, website, Facebook, Instagram and Flocknote. The coordinators for these various communication platforms are the following:
